Buhoma Lodge was built using sustainable local materials where possible, with the emphasis on natural products, which has given support to the local communities. The use of solar power in the cottages for lighting, and in a central area for recharging videos and cameras is all part of the ethos of sustainability at Buhoma.

Buhoma in the Bwindi Impenetrable Forest is a full day’s drive from Entebbe or Kampala, six hours drive from Lake Mburo National Park, two hours drive from Queen Elizabeth National Park (Ishasha Sector).
Twice daily scheduled light-aircraft flights land at the nearby Kihihi airstrip approximately 90-120 minutes’ drive from Buhoma, depending upon road conditions.
Facilities at Buhoma Lodge
Relive the day’s sightings and activities in the cosy lounge, dining and bar area. Meals are freshly prepared from local produce, offering a balance of international and local cuisine. Hot beverages are available throughout the day on a self-service basis, but morning tea or coffee is brought to your cottage, allowing you to savour the early morning sounds of the forest as it awakens. Activities include mountain gorilla tracking, forest walks, guided walk through local village, guided bird-watching walks, visit to local hospital, orphanage and school and visit the Batwa Pygmy tribe. After all the activity why not enjoy a massage which is available at the lodge?
Accommodation at Buhoma Lodge
Ten comfortable chalets built from local materials. Each comfortable suite has a private verandah and huge windows, affording guests spectacular views of the forest canopy and the Bwindi National Park. Each suite has an en suite bathroom with toilet and shower.
