Set in expansive, mature gardens that face Africa’s highest mountain, Mount Kilimanjaro. Built within a 190-acre area of Masai country, it is an ideal base from which to enjoy numerous pursuits.
A variety of bird species build their nests here, while squirrels and monkeys with babies clinging under their bellies dart through the gardens.

At the foothills of Mt. Kilimanjaro and set in Amboseli National Park, home to the Masai, over 400 species of breeding birds, and teeming with rare and wonderful wildlife.
Facilities at Amboseli Sopa Lodge
The lobby is furnished with large comfortable seats. On one side is a Masai market, which is owned by the local community, the proceeds of which help run their community. There is also a well stocked gift shop selling a variety of African souvenirs. From the lobby a walkway over a fish pond leads to the the Kibo restaurant opening onto a terrace, where a multi-ethnic combination of European, African and Asian dishes, all made with fresh produce, are served. There are 3 bars where guests can relax and recount the sightings of the day.
Leisure activities include a swimming pool and children’s pool, board games, game drives, Masai dancing* and visits to a Masai village*.

Accommodation at Amboseli Sopa Lodge
83 rooms with private bath/shower, hairdryer and verandah. Rooms have either 2 queen size beds or 1 king size bed. Some rooms have inter-connecting doors, making them ideal for families. A honeymoon suite is a large and spacious room with beautiful drift wood furniture, including a king size bed. An ornamental fireplace separates the bedroom and the lounge, which faces the mountain. A spacious verandah surrounds the suite, ideal for lounging early morning and evening, when the mountain can best be seen in all its glory.
