Set in one hundred and fifty acres of grassland studded with Acacia bushes and trees, the resort is not only home to the resident giraffe, waterbuck and both Vervet and Colobus monkeys, but it is also a night stop for the hippos when they leave the lake every night to come and trim the grass on our expansive lawns.

Situated on the shores of Lake Naivasha, a fresh water lake whose surface area depends on the rainfall, the resort is 125kms from Nairobi or just over an hour’s drive on tarmac roads.

Offers two restaurants serving a multi-ethnic combination of European, African and Asian dishes, all made with fresh produce. There are two bars. Leisure facilities include a swimming pool, kids’ pool, gym, game drives, bird watching, cycling, boat trip to Crescent Island*, day trips to Elsamere*, Hells Gate and Mount Longonot*.

Accommodation at Lake Naivasha Sopa Lodge
84 rooms in two-storey African Style rondavels. The rooms on the ground floor have a sunken bath, a balcony and queen size twin beds. On the upper floor the rooms have a king size bed and balcony. The balconies are furnished with a table and chairs, offering an excellent place to relax and watch over 400 bird species which can be found in this region.
