This exclusive camp, the ultimate wilderness retreat, where, from the privacy of the verandah, or from the outdoor Victorian bathtub, elephants and giraffes can be seen drinking at the river.

Situated in the heart of the reserve, this camp enjoys prime views of the spectacular wildebeest migration between June and September, and some of the world’s most rewarding big cat sightings during the remainder of the year.

 

Location of Mara Explorer

Situated on a thickly forested river in the middle of the Masai Mara reserve.

 

Facilities at Mara Explorer

Open-air riverfront dining area, intimate lounge and camp library. Leisure facilities include a swimming pool at the sister camp, Mara Intrepids, private game drives with expert local guides, walking safaris, visits to local villages, transfers for early morning hot air balloon flights, fishing safaris, lectures and shows on Masai culture and wildlife.

 

Accommodation at Mara Explorer

10 tents with luxurious bathrooms and outdoor claw-foot bathtubs.

 

Board Basis at Mara Explorer include (Breakfast, lunch, dinner, soft drinks, local beers, house wine, laundry, personal butler. Riverside bush breakfasts, sundowners and dinners are payable locally and subject to weather conditions.

 

The camp is closed from mid March to the end of May.
