Tortilis Camp

Tortilis Camp is named after the tortilis acacia tree and is a charming rustic tented camp built into the side of a hill, facing the foothills of Africa’s highest mountain, Kilimanjaro.

The friendly staff, drawn from the local Masai community, are dedicated to offering a truly memorable stay.

Game drives, guided bush walks, bush meals and sundowners are conducted both inside the park and within a private 30,000 acre game concession.


Location of Tortilis Camp

Situated on the edge of Amboseli National Game Reserve, on the southern border of Kenya, renowned for having the best views of Mount Kilimanjaro.


Activities at Tortilis Camp

Offers a spacious dining room, bush breakfasts, hilltop sundowners and delicious recipes taken from the family cookbook and served with fresh salads and herbs grown in the camp. Leisure facilities include a swimming pool, game drives, bush walks and massages.

Accommodation at Tortilis Camp

16 Spacious tents with king or twin beds, each with an en elegant en suite bathroom with shower, and a large verandah. There is also a family tent with a large verandah, which has 1 double en suite bedroom and 1 twin en suite bedroom, both of which can fit one extra bed for children under the age of 16 years.


Board Basis at Tortilis Camp (Lunch, Afternoon Tea with Homemade Cakes/ Biscuits, Dinner & Breakfast).


Flying Package

Breakfast, lunch, dinner, soft drinks, beer, house wine & non-luxury spirits included. Also Amboseli airstrip transfers, game drives, guided bush walks, transfer to cultural visits, bush breakfast and sundowners.
